THE DAUNTLESS ELITE
When GHOST MICE toured europe the first time, in 2003, we hitchhiked to all of our shows in the U.K. we thought it would take at least 2 days to get from Cardiff, Wales to Leeds, England, but we made it in about 8 hours. Andrew and Steve Jackson of BOMBED OUT RECORDS were putting on a huge fest called OUT OF SPITE and were nice enough to throw us on the bill on the sunday show. we got there friday night at 9:30pm. we had no idea where we would stay, we were lost in the big city. so we went to the fest and found Andrew and threw ourselves upon his mercy. despite the fact he was very busy and stressed with running a 3 day punk fest, he took us home with him. (and again the next two nights). he and his brother Steve made us breakfast and treated us great, so we did what we always do when we meet foreign punks. we offered them help with touring in the USA if they ever wanted to do it. about a year later they asked for our help and of course we gave it to them. if anyone makes me beans and toast and supplies me with and endless amount of strong black tea, i will be forever in their debt. somehow we decided to split release their CD-EP (SECURITY?) and get it out before their US tour and that's how they became the first international PIX band. that's how punk works in my opinion. punk is about making connections and expanding those connections so that we can all learn how to better people and build community. TDE play loud hard rocking punk with a slight emo edge, but never weak or whiny. the vocals are edgy and a little gruff. energy kids rule forver!
