Crime as Forgiven By...

This CD-EP came with 6 songs on it. it was the 2nd against me release (other than demo tapes). the 1st was a 12" on crasshole records that was mis-mastered and sounded horrible. the band hated it and tried not to sell it. (as far as i know)

as the band got bigger and kept moving up to bigger and bigger labels, they told me they wanted to release this CD on their friend jordan's label (sabot).

i was pretty disappointed by this. they are the first and only band so far to ever pull a release from plan-it-x.

i think they were unhappy with the way the DIY punk scene treated them as the got bigger. they seemed to view plan-it-x and it's message board as the voice of the DIY scene and were upset by the things people would say about them (sometimes true things, sometimes unjust things)

a few months later i found out they were signing to sire records and i think that's why they pulled this release. they knew it was possible that this release could make a lot of money for whoever owned it.

they told me the reasons were that they were unhappy with the packaging and the price (they wanted it to be cheaper since it was an EP) and they said they never knew the status of the release. the reasons were not sound since the packaging was their choice and could be changed at anytime. the price was already cheap enough. i sell all cds for EP prices already and it is about 18-20 minutes long so i think the price was fair. as for the status of the record, it was in press (in print) the whole time. every time i repressed it i would send the 200 free copies. i am easy to reach too. i always answer questions. so...

not to be grumpy or upset in anyway and to make a long story short, i am not happy about how things happened.

i love this release and i really loved against me. they meant a lot to me. this release still means a lot to me and i still love it.

i have 7 copies of this left that i found in an old distro box. these are for sure the LAST 7 copies and i am selling them as a benefit to buy a PA system for wayward council. i am selling them for $20 each (see the message board for more info)
